- Keep all devices in a common area of the house to monitor activity.
- Install siteblockers, monitoring software, or timers on your devices to limit access.
- Ask your child’s school about internet safeguards in place.
- Talk to your child about responsible use of the internet and social media.
- Periodically check the accounts, sites, and apps your child frequents.

42% of children admit to viewing sexually explicit material online. One in 16 have been exposed to hardcore pornography. One in 12 children have exchanged messages with sexual content online, while one in 25 have sent graphic photos to someone online. 16% discovered that someone they were talking to online was an adult pretending to be younger. One in 20 children admitted agreeing to meet a stranger in person after connecting with them online. More than 29% of children using the internet will post a home address, e-mail address and other personal information online when asked. Nearly one third of parents let their kids use the internet without supervision.
