Colorado Moms Tour | How to Help Your Teen Cope with Stress

Colorado Moms Tour with Heidi Ganahl

Today’s teens face pressure like never before with academic and athletic performance, drug and alcohol use, social media, bullying, and more. In response to the rising crisis of teen mental health issues among our youth across the nation, and especially in our own Colorado schools and communities, Moms Fight Back will be hosting a free, live community event for concerned parents with information and experts on hand to help us process the spate of recent tragedies while learning to recognize and respond appropriately to signs of depression and mental health crisis in our youth.

How to Help Your Teen Cope with Stress

May 3rd from 6 pm – 8 pm at Centennial’s Koelbel Library [5955 S Holly St.]

Space is limited, please RSVP to reserve your spot.

THIS EVENT IS FOR PARENTS ONLY.

We’ll by joined by Dr. Michael H. Allen, Professor of Psychiatry and Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Medical Director at the Rocky Mountain Crisis Partners to look at why incidences of teen suicide are on the rise, what’s causing the anxiety, depression, and pressure that’s hurting our kids, as well as the warning signs parents need to look out for so they know when their teens are in trouble. We’ll also delve into crisis prevention through communication so that every parent in the audience goes home equipped to reach out to their teen in a way that helps bridge the gap.

We’ll also hear words of hope from a Colorado mom who’s son reached the crisis point in his own life, and survived.
